How to practise this on bansuri flute
Settle Sa first: play it long against the drone until flute and drone stop beating, and come back to it between phrases. The swara names read exactly as you sing them — a line under a swara marks komal, a mark above marks tivra Ma, and a dot above or below moves the saptak. This study opens on C♯5; the bar lines group breath phrases, not strict beats, so take a real breath at each one.
On a bamboo flute the air is the instrument: blowing angle and breath pressure set the pitch, and a wavering column reads as a wavering note. The app grades pitch and timing from the mic — steady air is what moves both. Keep it well under around 64 BPM, shape each phrase in one breath, and repeat the phrase that grades worst before moving on. By the numbers, this setting runs 13 notes across 4 bars, from C♯5 up to C6 in 4/4 time.
