Choose High G, Low G, Baritone, or D Tuning once, then keep that physical setup through the tuner, verified chord shapes, playable arrangements, private imports, playback, and honest grading. The 62-lesson High G and Low G core path starts with eight free guided lessons and one complete graded song; Baritone and D Tuning get their own chords and music without pretending the gCEA course teaches different shapes.

Four tunings, one coherent practice room

High G, Low G, Baritone DGBE, and vintage D drive real voicings, arranging, playback, imports, and grading.

Left-handed diagrams, drawn not filmed

Turn on left-handed in Settings and every chord diagram is rendered mirrored from the same fingering data — no substitute right-handed videos.

62 lessons and 159 playable works

A sequenced core path plus original, public-domain, and traditional note-by-note arrangements. Slow a play-along from 100% to 50% and loop the rough phrase.

Your music becomes private practice

Capture or import a melody on-device, arrange it for your selected ukulele, slow the band, and rebuild the phrase honestly.

How honest grading works

  1. Listen.

Play your take and Soloist Ukulele captures it through the microphone, processing everything on your device. Audio is never uploaded — our backend has no audio endpoints at all.

  2. Measure.

The engine locates each note you played — its pitch, its timing, its onset — and compares it against the score, note by note.

  3. Report.

You see which notes rang true, which didn't, and what to loop next — drills built from your actual rough spots. An unclear take is left ungraded, never turned into a confident mistake.

Real screens. Real practice.

Questions

What can I do for free?

Download free: the four-tuning tuner, the complete chord library, eight guided starter lessons, one complete graded song, 16 complete playable works (all 159 stay browsable), and three successful private imports each calendar month. No ads in any tier.

Which ukulele tunings are supported?

High G (gCEA), Low G (GCEA), Baritone (DGBE), and vintage D (aDF♯B). The authored 62-lesson course teaches High G and Low G shapes; every tuning has its own chords, songs, imports, playback, and grading.

Does it work for left-handed players?

Yes. Choose left-handed at setup or in Settings and every chord diagram is mirrored, so the fourth string sits where a left-handed player sees it on their own neck. The diagrams are drawn from fingering data, not filmed.

What happens when the app cannot hear me?

It says it could not hear clearly instead of inventing a wrong-note verdict. A live mic-level guide tells you to move closer or play louder. Listening and grading run on your device; your audio is never uploaded.

How does Soloist Pro work?

Pro adds the remaining 54 lessons, 143 playable works, unlimited on-device personal songs, and every play-along style and tone. Pay once with Soloist Pro Lifetime, a single purchase that never renews and unlocks every lesson, song and tool, or choose a plan: US$9.99 monthly or US$59.99 yearly in the United States. Apple shows your regional price before you buy. Eligible new annual subscribers may see a 7-day trial; monthly and Lifetime have no trial. Coach replies beyond the free one need a monthly or annual plan. No weekly subscriptions.

Is the Coach an AI?

Yes. The optional Coach asks your permission before your first message is sent, and says its replies are written by AI, not by a human teacher. It needs Sign in with Apple, receives only the text you choose plus an optional numeric practice summary (never audio), and you can turn it off anytime in Settings.
