Baroque Arpeggio Study on cello
The full melody, rendered as engraved bass-clef staff you can read on screen or print for the stand — free, and never truncated.
An original Playsoloist study, composed in-house as a practice piece — not a traditional tune and not implied to be one.
How to practise this on cello
This is bass clef — the cello's home register. The bottom line is G2, your open G string, and anything sitting two ledger lines below the staff is your open C. Baroque Arpeggio Study is in C and opens on C2; tune carefully to the drone before you draw a bow, because on a fretless fingerboard every note in the piece rides on where that first finger lands. Play the opening phrase one bow-stroke per note and watch the pitch feedback rather than your hand — the app hears which notes drifted, which no mirror can show you.
Keep the bow parallel to the bridge and let arm weight, not pressure, make the tone. Set the metronome well under around 96 BPM and loop the bar that your take review marks red. Where the line shifts position, ghost the slide silently — finger the shift without bowing it — until the distance is in your arm, then bow it. By the numbers, this setting runs 28 notes across 4 bars, from C2 up to B3 in 4/4 time.
