How to practise this on piano

Read the grand staff the way your hands divide it: the top staff is your right hand, the bottom staff your left — always by hand, never by pitch. Simple Gifts is in C; find the first note (G4) and anchor your right-hand thumb near it before you play anything. Learn the hands separately first: right hand alone until it grades clean, then the left alone, then together at half tempo — the app hears exactly which hand drifted, which is the thing your own ear glosses over.

Keep your eyes on the score, not the keys; your hands learn the geography faster than you expect. Set the metronome well under around 96 BPM and only raise it after two clean takes. When hands-together breaks down, don't start over — drop back to hands-separate for the one bar your take review marks, rebuild it, and splice it back in. By the numbers, this setting runs 42 notes across 9 bars, from G4 up to A5 in 4/4 time.
