Ada Teental Theka, Structure & Bols

Ada Teental, as presented in this library, is a tirakita-saturated variant theka on the sixteen-matra frame — same vibhags, sam, claps on 5 and 13 and khali on 9 as Teental — rather than a separately standardised textbook taal; treat it as a theka prakar (variety) for solo and accompaniment use. Where Teental's theka walks (dha dhin dhin dha), this one runs: tirakita clusters thread through every vibhag, previewing the density of drut playing while the underlying clap pattern never changes. That makes it an excellent bridge exercise between theka and rela. Practice it directly after plain Teental at the same tempo: the frame in your hands stays fixed while the surface doubles. Keep every tirakita internally even — four light, equal strokes — and do not let the clusters steal time from the ringing dhin and dha that anchor each vibhag. When the variant sits comfortably at medium tempo, its khali section (tirakita tin tin ta) becomes a clean test of dry-stroke control.
