Practice on your device
The current Bansuri app processes microphone input on your device for pitch and steadiness feedback. It does not upload microphone audio. Your Sa selection, lesson progress, practice days and drill scores stay on this device; Apple sign-in does not sync that practice history.
In version 3.1 and later, you can choose to share a practice-day and streak summary through the system share sheet. It includes no recordings or account details. You choose the destination; Bansuri does not send the summary automatically.
Accounts and Apple sign-in
You can practise and use Apple purchases without creating an app account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple sends an identity credential to the app. Our AWS service verifies it and stores an account identifier, an Apple identity mapping and authorization credentials so you can sign in again and revoke access when deleting your account. The app does not request your name or email from Apple.
Earlier app versions may have created an anonymous account for purchase verification and online-coach limits. Those accounts remain supported.
Purchases
Apple processes payments and provides signed subscription transactions. Local Pro access follows verified StoreKit rights. When an app account is present, the app may send the signed transaction and its account token to our AWS service to maintain a subscription record. App Store notifications update that record after renewals, expiry or refunds. We do not receive your payment-card details.
Online feedback in older versions
The current practice flow does not send metrics to a remote AI coach. Older versions with that feature send numeric practice results, including pitch offsets, steadiness, raga and take length, to our AWS service and DeepSeek to generate feedback. They do not send microphone audio. Requests are subject to daily limits.
Deletion and security records
Use Settings to delete your local data or app account. Server deletion must finish before the app clears the corresponding local account and practice data. If it fails, the app keeps your access and offers a retry. Apple-linked account deletion also revokes the saved Apple authorization.
After deletion, an opaque account marker and hashed completion receipt remain to block old-session replay and confirm a deletion whose response was lost. Other-device session records become unusable immediately and expire after their existing session lifetime, up to 60 days; AWS may remove expired records later. Short-lived request-limit records also expire automatically. These records are not used for advertising. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription.
