01 Use an independent mock to practise evidence, not predict a pass
A useful mock checks setup, a scale or technical study, one complete phrase, continuity, and the learner's ability to restart after a miss. It can produce a practice result for a teacher to review. It cannot certify readiness or replace the chosen body's current rubric.
02 Keep original exercises separate from official material
Foundation, Developing, and Advanced are neutral practice bands, not official grade equivalents. Exercises and arrangements should be original or traced to a defensible public-domain source. Do not copy modern exam books, recordings, logos, or instructional prose.
03 Check the live syllabus before every exam season
Record the examining body, exact edition, region, and the date you checked it. Confirm required scales, repertoire, accompaniment, memorisation, sight-reading, and submission format with the official provider or your teacher.
