Soloist Ocarina is designed so the sound of your practice and the music you import stay on your device.

Audio, imports, and practice data

Microphone listening, tuning, note detection, grading, lesson progress, takes, and practice history are processed or stored on your iPhone. MusicXML and compressed MXL files are opened and arranged on-device. Raw microphone audio, recordings, imported scores, and note-by-note take data are not uploaded to our service or its processors.

World listening and safety controls

The World tab downloads short, pre-moderated note-event melodies for in-app playback. It does not download or upload raw microphone audio. If you report a row, the service receives the row identifier and selected report category; signed-in blocks send the poster's pseudonymous account identifier. These safety interactions are stored with the reporting or blocking account. The current app does not provide a public upload control.

Optional account and service identity

Core tuning, fingering, lessons, imports, playback, and on-device grading require no account. The service issues a random installation credential to secure catalog, World, and entitlement requests. If you choose Sign in with Apple, the app requests your full name and the service stores that name when you share it, plus Apple's pseudonymous app-specific user identifier and session records. Soloist Ocarina does not request or store your Apple email address. None of these identifiers is an advertising identifier or derived from your hardware.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions. Signed StoreKit transaction and subscription-event details are stored, linked to the installation credential or signed-in account, to activate access, handle renewals, expiries, revocations, refunds, and restore, and reject duplicate or stale events. These purchase-history records can include pseudonymous product, transaction, status, expiry, and notification identifiers; they do not contain your payment-card details or practice audio.

Ads, analytics, and sale of data

Soloist Ocarina contains no ads, advertising identifier, or third-party tracking SDK. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Retention and deletion

Delete the app to remove its local practice and import data. Use the in-app delete-account control where available, or email nora@playsoloist.com, to request deletion of optional account, World-safety, and ordinary installation-linked service records. Minimal pseudonymous purchase, moderation, deletion-integrity, fraud-prevention, or legal records may remain only where needed to preserve correct entitlement state, prevent replay, resolve reports, or comply with law.
